k i am getting an ion with an egg2 i was just wondering what else i should get or have to get to make it work better?
Like maby:
qev, but what does it do for the marker.
qlock, but what does it do for the marker.
barrel, but which type.
roller trigger, but what does that do for the marker.
HPA far before any of those.
Then barrel, then qev, then trigger, then q-lock

Yep. get HPA first. I sat around and listened to my brother explain to some kid 2 weeks ago how he CANT use CO2 on his ion... as the kid was screwing on a co2 tank. I backed him up on it.. you CANT use CO2....
the kid chose to ignore us, or "risk it", and at the end of the round he complained that his gun "stopped working".
I somehow didnt slap him in the forehead.

I agree with what both justin and stan said. to answer you questions in as short as i can and the only way i know how really.
qev helps vent the exhast air faster so that your marker cycles faster and is easier on air and have lower dwell (time the valve stays open if i remember correctly). trust me on this it works. mine got louder though thats for sure but its much easier on air
qlock is good cuz the stock feedneck is so damn bad. i hate it and i bet others agree. i still havent replaced mine but i should. just makes your hopper easier to get in and out and i think secures it better too but i am probably wrong.
barrel is up to you really. i prefer the all american. others say go for a barrel kit. It was explained to me by carter and another much more experienced player that a marker like the ion really doesnt gain enough with a barrel kit to warrent the expense and that even the philly all americans only use the largest insert i their freaks. i also like the stiffi barrels and i think they also make one that will take freak inserts. they are light as hell.
trigger well i hate the stock trigger too. its shit really. i find my marker much better to shoot and much faster with my ndz blade roller trigger. it feels so much better too imo
i once heard that its usually best to put a asa with an on off to help reduce the speed at which the marker airs up to avoid blowing hoses but i dunno i just got mine cuz i liked teh comfort and ability to cut the air if i want.
all in all i really dont think i know anything anymore but others will correct me if i am wrong anyway or at least i hope they do.
yeah, the stock trigger is a POS, i have seen maybe 3 broken since last season.

co2----it's not as could as air in any compareson, but if u can't a afford one yet and u don't want to rent you can get a co2 tank siphonated, this is when a little tube is placed in your tank so that none of the liquid co2 enters your gun this is only 10$ at ss, its no where near as consitant as co2 tho

dont put co2 any where neer the gun. just get an air tank. you can rent them cheaper then getting 1 20oz tank filled up. or you can ask mitch what happes to an ion with co2 in it.

i htink m investing in a qev next then a q-lock. i dont liek my barrel, but i will stick with it for the simple reason i dont need one now lol. Then a trigger maybe. But q-lock and qev are on the top of the list.

Does CO2 work on the Ion if you install an Anti-Syphon?

It does but not well and if you tip the marker it becomes a siphon and destroys your marker, get a 2nd hand steel HPa tank its cheaper in the short and long run.
