Gentlemen and Ladies! Time has come! The horn sounded! Gather your Courage and prepare to defend the Walls! We have taken the town of Strudleberg! It is ours and none can dispute that fact! And yet the enemy mounts again to take this ground from us!
Let no marker go unfired! Let no German take one step forward without making his platoon take four back. Give no quarter and take none! This is not my time for speeches! I am standing to the wave that approaches! Gather your forces!
Captians of our honourable Battle group! If ye were a Captain before and wish to continue! You have my blessing! But send me word that you rise to the call!
Sargents! chisel yourselves and your troops! You know the word of the day!
VICTORY! AND STAND FOR NOTHING ELSE BUT TOTAL VICTORY! THE AXIS SHALL FALL ONCE AGAIN!

Reporting for duty, sir....*Grips his pace-stick firmly, tucked under the left arm*
I will say only this....I expect the same courage, dedication and discipline that was displayed during the assault on Strudleburg. Your performance has made this RSM proud.....
But i expect equal or better results!
The Germans are not to be discounted or underestimated.
We have the home of many of their troops.
We have General Von Bull's home.
Ask yourself...if someone invaded your home..what would YOU do to get it back? I expect a hardened corps of professional troops to come at us and they will give us not an inch to fight by..so we must make our own advances against them and take everything they give.
Six months ago...they say they won on numbers...that they eliminated more troops than we did.
HA!! Battle is not decided by numbers, there are no runner ups to congratulate...let them have their numbers...
WE HAVE STRUDLEBURG ... and we will not let it go so easily.
All captains and Sergeants are to have their platoons geared up and prepped for battle by no later than the last week of October. Speak with your troops and prepare them for what is to come. There will be many old faces in the 184th, but also some new faces..make them feel welcome and part of the unit. Expect orders at ANY time from the General.
We will prevail over the Axis tyranny.

Well General this day you fall. stats mean nothing when with thousands of rounds coming toward you and hundreds of you men dead on the street. Or maybe they do but it will you who is the statistic.
JTF2_Clerk
09-10-2007, 07:43 PM
Any who have studied ballistic warfare or field battlecraft know one MAJOR facet of a battle. 3:1 Odds to take a positon. Thus why you use a Section to take out a two man trench, A platoon to remove a section. A company to take out a platoon and so on and so on.
This is a fact, rounds are useful but not the battle. If you're using thousands of rounds on me, you AREN'T using thousands of rounds on the rest of the battle group.. I'll take that trade any day of the week. One general, Win a piviotal battle? Victory.
Thus the reason why it does come down to stats. The best outfits attacking an enemy who knows their terrain in an urban environment is at a 5:1 Odds now, instead of the 9:1 odds that used to occur for lack of training and lack of terrain knowledge.
Major Kriegspiel is a smart man, a very smart man. more than likely one of the better strategists I've come up against. I need not defend my ways to him. However I will let you in on a secret. Two years running I have been the aggressor. Attacking the position time and time again to push the axis out and both times there has been a gutsy move displayed in the end. Von Bull's tactics were fundimentally flawed in the first WIW I commanded due to the aggressionary tactics he employed. They were too aggressive and thus led themselves to the holes that we as the Allies were able to exploit to retrieve Arnhem twice.
However the two of them together are a dangerous pair. A pair I don't plan to underestimate. The result of their tactics are revealled only by one side of the battle as Chronicled by Bruce "Charon the Bard" Johnston. (Yes a little hero worship I know.) What looks to be a mad dash for the prize, (In both assaults in both cases) Had both three contingencies and one primary plan. If the plan pulled off, then BONUS! If not, then it did what I wanted it to: Cause a distraction to allow for further movement. It really was though dumb luck that those plans worked.
The basic plan for both years was simple: Hold fast, Make you come to me, make you continually use your energy to hold me, make you waste all your endurance and when you slowed down and stood still, that's when I struck. At your weakest point. THAT is how I attacked to mitigate your force and turn your superiority (Hardened, Dug in, High ground, defilade to provide enfiladed fire.) Into your weakness, (some stayed in their holes and didn't move to support you, others stayed back to try and find the stragglers or forward forces. Thus mitigating your force from a 1:1 odd (Meaning I loose by default.) to a 1:1 odds on me as the defending force (Meaning the axis lost by default by simply... Moving to engage.) Allowing me to amass my forces in relatve safty.
The ONLY wrench that was thrown into my plan was the air drop behind my lines because I didn't think the axis would have been that insane. Off the go you guys must have known the air drop was doomed but did it anyway. Like the Embassy drop I put that out there to give me time to ferry troops across the floating bridge.
*Inhales* but enough of that. *Snickers* my tactics lecture is over for the day. I still run my existance from this quote:
"The best lain plans of mice and men go to pot as SOON as the enemy shows up."
*Grins* Discuss!

*Ahem* I hate to rain on people's parade. But, General bull is right. The nights sing with the songs of battle to come. The heaven cloud to cover the eyes of the gods above attempting to gaze down upon this soon to be multi-colored field and hope if only to catch a glimpse of the plans to come.
But he is right... The Axis approaches, Silently in the night they move like the shadows of a forgotten era, seeking to suck the life from those who stand as the sole beacons of light within the enroaching darkness. And yet he fails! He Fails miserably as he has yet to realize that we... Not the Axis, hold this ground.
We do not faulter in our duties. We do not rest! We do not tire! We know that within this village our comrades have been marked and led from the field and yet we! We FEW! Stand! Removed from the protection of the Allied forces! We are the only bastion that holds firm as others of our allies have crumbled around us. And while lesser troops would break and run, we but stand taller, stronger!
We know that there is no friends outside the circle we have formed! The bonds shared between comrades in arms. We know the trust! We know we are the only few soldiers. But WE ARE THE 184TH! WE *ARE* THE ARMY!
We stand ready to meet this horde that undulates towards us like a Tsunami of evil incarnate. And we do not shy away! We do not quiver! We step forward. Markers in hand. Steel in our teeth and fire within our bellies! WE ARE THE FORCES! WE ARE THE TROOPS THAT HOLD THIS GROUND!
My brothers and Sisters! Step forward to the front! For you will not find dispair there! You will only find me! The Field Dragon! You will find the commander you called for! You will find me sitting within the trench with you, Charging the lines with a immolating cry of battle to call you to arms.
Grip tighter my friends! My troops! I am but the conduit! And you! The Sword! We have carried the memories of the other players before us! The Axis cannot pray enough to stop the warrior's spirit within us! LET IT RAIN OF PAINT AND WE SHALL ANSWER WITH OUR OWN ROAR!
BAND CLOSE, FIRE TRUE, AND NEVER SURRENDER! TO THE LAST MARKER! WE SHALL ANSWER PAINT WITH PAINT AND WE SHALL WIN!
HOORAH 184TH! HOORAH! AND ONWARDS! TO BATTLE!

Allied Soldiers!
We of the Axis are not your natural enemies. Withdraw from Strudelburg while you still can. We of the Axis care more for you than your own leaders who would callously throw you into a fight simply for their own joy of battle.
Of course, there is a lull in the battle but soon you will have to face the renewed fury of the Axis. It could come anywhere, and at any time. Will you survive to see your gangster ridden homeland again? Nothing is certain.
Of course we Axis do know what it is like to defend Strudelburg, an advantage which you lack. There is so much ground to be held, you'll have to spread out pretty thin to cover all that ground and of course an attacker can come in almost anywhere. You can't chance leaving any holes in the line so you'll be by yourself, watching, waiting, cold and wet, as the Axis Legions slowly advance out of the fog on you. You'll be all alone to face the music. Really, is Strudelburg your concern? Is it worth fighting for? You should know what an Axis attack is like, all that shooting, the fury, the fear felt in your gut knowing your opponant is determined. The Axis is relentless in attack.
And what of the mysterious artefact in the Museum, it is gold. Of course where it ends up after the war, perhaps in your General's footlocker I might speculate, is it any concern of yours? We know all about the artefact of course, what it does, well, you won't like it. Your General wants to keep it but really that isn't a good idea. You'd be better off returning it to the Axis for proper disposal. That really would be in everyone's best interest.
Of course perhaps you recognize the duplicity of your leaders and you wish to Join the Axis Foreign Legion. Keep in mind its never too late to join up. We're taking real Soldiers now!
On the day of battle no Axis soldier will refuse your honorable surrender! Take your fate into your own hands!
Axis High Command
P.S. As a final thought in the event your still undecided, ask yourself who's romancing your girl at home while you languish here in dirty foxholes, unshaved and unwashed. Those left behind you do not share your risks but certainly share your nice warm bed.

*The general smiles as he looks to the note handed to him from Major Kriegspiel before looking to the lieutenent that brought it to him.*
Mr Rosen... I want you to do me a favour. Take this note and make sure there are hundreds of copies and take them to the troops. Do not sugar coat anything, let soldiers make up their minds. Tell them that anyone who wishes news of home I will have it for them.
Should any have any issues with standing the line after viewing this, tell them they are to speak to me immediately. I will NEVER stay in a warm bed that Major Kriegspiel makes mention of... So long as my troops are sleeping under the stars, I will do the same. I am no more important than any of those who are under my command.
Each man and woman who is out there right now is as urgently important as I am to Allied Command. Command views them as numbers. I view them as my family. I will not have a single soldier under my command worry of home while they are with me. If they do not feel like they are home, then I... As their commander have failed. I will not have this. Any gripes that are heard through the ranks. I want to know of them. No matter how insignifigant others believe them to be, I will always listen.
The fires of war draw close... I will not have them worry of home. Axis Command talks of who's romancing my girl at home? I can answer that question right now, He is about five foot, ten inches tall. In peak physical condition and could serenade the sun into rising at night. I know this because this... Are her words to me. And I don't know what Axis women are like. But we...
We have trust and faith. And we do not question those who wait for us at home because we know they wait for us and they know we wait for the time we can finally return home to their arms. And we WILL return to them, every last one of us will Return home to them. This is not a wish, nor a dream... This is a FACT. Just as it is a FACT that we will defeat the Axis here and now. HERE in Strudleberg they will find an adversary who are prepared, rested, Determined and most of all. Knowledged of the ground and it's key points just as they were.
Now go, tell them what I have told you. *He turns away sipping at a metal cup filled with thick dark liquid.* oh and Mr Rosen? Tell Blitz that if he doesn't get back to me soon... The deal's off. And also tell the Iron Legionaires... Expect their orders soon... I have a surprise for them that has come down from on high I'm sure they'll enjoy.
Oh! And tell the RSM to STOP calling his Pacestick "The Key To Berlin." it's creepy. *With that he looks down to a sealed envelope in his hands. Whispering* Be it one or one million. The Axis will be stopped here.

Words that were spoken twice before and twice before we have emerged victorious. So mayhaps the words you speak are heralding the outcome of the battle again? My speeches, while nice are two things:
1. Not speeches.
2. The Truth.
So young axis soldier, I will warn you once. Beware the words you speak. For those that don't remember history are doomed to repeat it. Every soldier on the field last year and during the spring watched me weave your Artillery and your weapon's paint. Unlike other commanders when I SAY I lead from the front... I lead from the front.

*ahems again* Ummm... You forget sir, umm.. They've fought under both Koderrat and I for the last two years. They know he doesn't care about troops outside of battle. He's not a field commander, He's more a commisar than a commander. He's the Lion that shakes the field with his roar.
Me? I'm the dragon, I'm the crafty one who DOES care about his troops. I'm the one that stands in place and wheathers the rain of paint to take care of my soldiers. Koderrat is the one who makes sure the paint is in place when I do stupid things.
Koderrat is the ONLY Troop that my soldiers know, that I don't care if he gets marked. I care if he isn't standing in the path of battle. He's a Battle Junkie. It's his life it's his existance. Kinda like Capt Kilgore. So yeah. Your words are kinda useless there. I think you'd get a better response out of "The Hockey of Canada is Kaput." or "Canadian Beer Sucks."
So keep at it... I'm having a good laugh about this. As are my troops. Keep at it. I need a daily laugh.. It passes the time and raises morale. It just means I don't have to go around buttering up my troops. I love morale. I just hate Stoking Egos when they already know how good they are... I mean c'mon. We're standing in Strudleberg... And the Axis aren't.

Dear Field Dragon;
During Phase one we will build aggro against you as the sweat of our main tank flows strong against the shell of your defense, but that shell will only last momentarily as our own groupings of dps will come forward and knock down your defenses enough so that you will have to go to a Phase Two plan.
During Phase two, you might fly about freely, sending your troops this way and that, trying to scare the Axis into submission - but be forewarned... The Tippinators do not fear your attacks, and we provide a Fear Ward for the rest of our Axis brothers. Soon as you send your whelps to fight us they will know the darkness of death and we will move through the bridges into Strudleburg for phase 3.
During phase 3 you might try something silly like flamethrowers or grenades but know this - defeat is only around the corner as the last percentage of your troops is eliminated, the last husk of your defense crumbles under the weight of the Axis army, and then - only then will you know the true reason we're taking back Strudleburg.

Are you trying to replace me?? Sure, he's very good at what he does, he's been in numerous fire fights and engagements in general, he has good top-of-the-line kit and weapons.....but....he's Navy!! What good is a Navy guy gonna be without water? Throw him into the Strudelburg river, he'll do some good from there.
Besides, i don't trust a guy who has a number for a name, even if his identity is suppose to be supa-secret.

Soldiers of the Allied Expeditionary Force
Recently, battle plans the Axis had made were obtained under false pretense. The plans reveal our determination to attack and overwhelm the Allied defenses surrounding Strudelburg. You can be sure that the plans contain the least of the ingenious solutions we have found to getting around and past your defenses.
Know that once we have set our forces in motion there is little that you can do about it. The forces in front of you are members of the 242nd Panzer Grenadiers and 7th Fallschirmjaeger Regiment. All seasoned veterans of previous campaigns. They need no other command than Forward! In the attack they are relentless.
That itch you feel between your shoulderblades is just a symptom of the uncertainty in your mind. You can believe in our battle plans. The thoroughness of our planning is certain. Are we here or there, behind you, or in front? Its hard to say really, but you can be sure of one thing, we will attack!

SURREEEEEE
i yawned... you might have had the power to keep us at bay last time.. but we broke through. and overwhelmed your force while they.......wernt looking (more likeing filling up with air and paint). NOW as it stands we have the advantage good sir.. on normal terms i wouldnt be so arrogant BUT we have enough force to spair to keep watch while we hold our posoitiong.... we are aware of the pontoon bridge, and the air drop and we will be waiting.(cant help but metagame)
GOOD DAY!

It is an honour to have you with us. Please be ready for the orders and such which will be passed onto you via your team (Platoon Golf) captain.

ummmmm what brand lol i would say no because and im thinking kinda fast here so this might not come out clear but i would think chewing would make more heat rise from your mouth causing all that fogy stuff or you could just breathe downwards if its that bad or just go buy a grill haha mine hasn't fogged up in the slightest yet.

.............hey... just trust me.... it stops bathroom mirrors from fogging up.. i tried it in my profiler.. and it didnt fog up as fast as it usualy does... im going to put a FRESH coat on the day before warriors....
just squirt a BIT... enough to rub a small coat over the whole inside of the lense... then leave for about a min, then buff off with toilet paper or a towel or something.

10-29-2007, 06:34 PM
Something that can help with profiler fogging is to make sure you're not wearing any headgear (hats/headbands/etc). I find that the airflow works better and less fogging occurs.
Too bad because I love how agg my headbands are ;) lol
